Gloria Revisited
So in one of my classes today we saw a few minutes worth of the famous "Gloria" series. For those of you that are not familair, The "Gloria" series is a documentary of three different pscyhotherapists(Rogers, Perls, and Ellis) spending one session with a woman named Gloria. Gloria was a real person and she agreed to allow her therpay sessions to be taped. Each of the three psychotherapists have their own style and in some ways their styles are drasticlaly different from the other. The interesting thing is that this was made in the 60's, so certain things are outdated.
What is not outdated though, is that this is a wonderful teaching tool. It enables a student to see the type of psychohtherapy in action as done by its creator. Viewing of verbal as well as non verbal expressions is worth doing. What is especially fun to do is to watch the differences between Rogers and Perls as they are very different in their theoretical and orientation styles.
For those of you wh0 have seen it, you can reflect your own thoughts on the documentarty. I think some people who havent seen this documentary would love to hear your opinions, so please comment.
Thanks.
